Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 4, 2026

This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our websites and the MockHive API platform.

This document is a product template for launch preparation. Have qualified legal counsel review and adapt it for your jurisdiction before production.

Who we are

MockHive ("we", "us") operates the mockhive.dev marketing website and the MockHive mock data platform. This policy explains how we handle personal data when you use our sites and services.

Data we collect

We may process the following categories of data:

  • Account data: email address, name, language preference, and authentication identifiers
  • Usage data: API request logs, timestamps, endpoints accessed, and plan consumption metrics
  • Content you create: collection schemas, mock records, snapshots, and webhook configurations
  • Billing data: payment-provider customer identifiers and subscription status (we do not store full card numbers; processors may include Paddle and/or Stripe)
  • Communications: messages you send via contact or hire-us forms

How we use data

We use personal data to provide and secure the service, enforce plan limits, process payments, respond to support requests, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on your region, we rely on contract performance (providing the service), legitimate interests (security and abuse prevention), and consent where required (e.g. marketing emails when you opt in).

Retention

We retain account and collection data while your account is active. Logs and usage aggregates may be kept for a limited period for analytics and billing. You may request deletion of your account subject to legal and billing record requirements.

Third parties

We use subprocessors such as cloud hosting, MongoDB database hosting, payment processors (Paddle and/or Stripe), email providers (e.g. Resend), and AI providers for schema generation when you use that feature. Their policies apply to data they process on our behalf.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, hashed passwords, API key authentication, and access controls on administrative systems. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us using the email below to exercise these rights.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
